Eurol unveils CO2-neutral lubricants made from renewable materials
Eurol, a lubricant company based in Nijverdal, Netherlands, has introduced a new line of CO2-neutral lubricants under the brand name “Carbon Neutral.” These products, which include engine oils, automatic transmission fluid, and UTTO oil, are formulated with up to 75% renewable raw materials and are delivered in fully recyclable packaging—50% of which is made from recycled material.
The Carbon Neutral line currently features four products: Carbon Neutral HD-FE 5W-30, Carbon Neutral DXS 5W-30 engine oils, Carbon Neutral ATF 6700 automatic transmission fluid, and Carbon Neutral Hykrol JD 68 UTTO oil. This range is designed to meet the performance demands across sectors such as automotive, trucking, agriculture, and earthmoving.
Bart van Hoorn, head of Technology & Innovation at Eurol, emphasised the importance of sustainability in today’s market, stating, “More and more organisations are actively working to reduce emissions. We see this reflected in the many companies that hold a CO2 performance ladder certificate or participate in the ‘Lean & Green’ CO2 reduction program. The drive for innovation and sustainability is embedded in our DNA.”
Eurol’s commitment to sustainability aligns with the European Green Deal, aiming for a climate-neutral Europe by 2050. With larger organisations in the Netherlands required to register and reduce their CO2 emissions starting July 2024, Eurol’s Carbon Neutral lubricants offer a timely and practical solution. Unlike other products that rely on carbon offsetting, Eurol’s lubricants achieve intrinsic CO2-neutrality by being made from renewable components of natural origin, without compromising on quality.
“With Carbon Neutral, we have chosen intrinsic CO2-neutrality. This means we do not opt for compensation through emission certificates but rather for developing products made from renewable components of natural origin. All this without compromising on quality. The recyclable packaging, which consists of 50% recycled granulate, is also innovative in the lubricant market,” van Hoorn said.
These carbon neutral products are fully integrated into the Eurol Oil Advisor, making it easy for customers to select the “CO2-neutral choice” in their lubricant needs. Eurol specialists are also available to provide sustainability consultations to further support the transition to more eco-friendly solutions.
